George Driver
South Island Correspondent
George’s writing career began as a five-year-old when he won a Central Otago writing competition for a story about befriending an alien. It was another 20 years before he landed his first paid writing gig, as a reporter for Warkworth community newspaper, Mahurangi Matters. He went on to work for Wilderness magazine and has freelanced for the country’s major publications including the Sunday Star Times, RNZ, The Listener and The Spinoff.
He’s now back writing in Clyde, where it all began.
